Den 7. november skal det holdes presidentvalg i Nicaragua. Dagen etter valget, den 8. november, trekker vi Nicaragua fram fra glemselen.

This talk will address the role of art, artists and cultural organizers in social movements, with a special emphasis in Lebanon, Colombia, Brazil and Syria. The panel is divided in three parts, with panelists from the music industry, activists and academicians; Thomas Hylland Eriksen, Khaled Barakeh, Diego Marín, Larissa Avelar, Cecilie Hellestveit, Amani Semaan, Nabil Canaan, Lynn Adib, Bachar Mar-Khalifé, Zeid Hamdan and Christina Hazboun.

Come to Kunstplass for the opening of The Solidarity Patchwork, an interactive project created by Astrid and Ingrid Fadnes. A big quilt, consisting of multiple patches, conveys stories of solidarity connected to the 40th year of The Norwegian Solidarity Committee for Latin America.

Norge har lenge solt seg i glansen av vellykka innsats for å berge regnskogen i Amazonas, men det har en bakside. Norge bidrar også til å ødelegge regnskogen. Torkjell Leira er samfunnsgeograf, skribent og en av Norges ledende Brasil-eksperter, og tar i dette foredraget opp Norges dobbeltrolle i Amazonas.
